Question of the Day

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

How soon is too soon to make a move on someone you're familiar enough with to know they just got out of a relationship?

By "make a move on", I mean try to fuck and by "familiar enough with", I mean you dated them for two years. I wanted to be sure to clarify in case there were questions. This situation leaves little room for grey area.

Thoughts?

I think it is bad manners to get with someone you've been with before, unless you are really trying to get back with them in a relationship and not just a sexual tip.

I mean, why go back over stuff you already know, and you can get sex anywhere?

But to answer the question ... I think you should give it a couple of months at least.

If you've already done the do in the past then its never too soon. As long as you are clear with your intentions I say go ahead and bust it wide open.

if they just got out of a relationship why dont you give them time to breathe... are you or the person in question that hard up for sex that you cant let the person catch their breath?

not sure what you mean by "just got out" but I think even the consideration is tacky

This reminds me of that question...."How low can you go...can you go down low...'til you touch the flo'?!"
Honey, do what feels right and will allow you to keep a modicum of self respect tomorrow. Somehow, the bigger question is, how soon is it before we throw pearls to the same swine we were tossin' them at before?
You guys have a perfect sayin' for it down in that DC region..."Why so pressed?!"

as long as both parties are upfront about the real reasons for it and the potential ramifications; it could be good. I'd never do it though.

It's no fun if you don't say anything.
