It just ran across my mind...

Thursday, October 25, 2007

  • I caught Donald Trump's interview on Larry King Live the other night and gained a newfound appreciation for him (and his hair). He's an amazing man despite what his critics say. I bought his new book today from bn.com. I hope it helps. :-/
  • I can think of a million places I'd rather be than sitting in the office today. Chillin' on a beach in Bora-Bora with a beer and a large plasma HDTV showing non-stop college basketball while getting the BJ of my life tops that list. Hell comes in at a close second.
  • I kinda wish I were in love, but kinda not. I want a relationship, but then I don't. I dunno. At the very least I wish I were getting some on a regular basis. It's probably best that at this point, I just focus on me. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

  • I really want to see Gone Baby Gone, but refuse to go to the theater alone. I may have a solution to that though.

  • I hate that the federal government and the American media are comparing the California fires to Hurricane Katrina. They say the government response was near flawless and that a lesson was learned from Katrina. Well, aside from both devastating tragedies, there ain't much more these events have in common. Rich people's resources >>>>>>>> Poor people's resources. And it ain't even close.

  • I've been hitting the gym everyday lately and I feel great. It's good to be back in swing of being active.

  • The pre-season college basketball USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll was released today. Maryland got 1 vote. Duke, Illinois, Davidson, Clemson, Michigan State, and NC State each got more votes. Maryland beat each of these teams soundly last season. Dumb coaches.

  • I'm not feeling the 4th consecutive day of rain.

  • I gotta pee.

I'm with you on the relationship tip.

I want to go to the movies too, but I refuse to go alone, so I will not see it this weekend at least.

The news is a mess!!

People fail to realize Katrina problems were not Bush's fault, it was the miscommunication and coordination from the mayor to the governor. The federal government cannot impose on state affairs until the governor offically petition the federal government. Bush cannot super-impose on Louisiana until the governor declares a state of emergency. For example, whenever an emergency arise or about to arise, governors of Florida, California or any other state always sound the alarm. Unfortunately, the governor in Louisiana was too lazy and late doing her job.

D.Lavar - Im not into water sports.

Humility - Is it really too much? I know what you do.

Life - yeah...going to the movies is not a good look. esp. on the weekend when everybody is in there with their boo.

Captain - I know. I never blamed Bush. Louisiana had/has major issues at the state level too.FEMA was a mess during Katrina and all Bush did was fly over. He didnt even touch down initially.

My beef is with the fools saying that our crisis plan worked to a T. These people were rich as hell. These were poeple living in houses on hills in SoCal not the 9th ward.

Ah, love. It is such a fleeting sensation. I feel love lots of times, but it is not the kind of love you are refering to so I'll shut up.

I'm glad you forgave the captain.

Holding pee in to complete a blog....now that's dedication.

@Captain- you are absolutely right about the Federal Government not being able to respond until the State declares a State of Emergency. You took the words right out of my mouth.

@Mr. Jones- Yea Bush could've touched down... Unfortunately Air Force One wasn't outfitted to land in water... Go figure.

There's NO comparison between Katrina and the California wildfires. Money had nothing to do with it.

Foxy - Thanks. Please come back.

One Man's - The Captain didn't do anything to need my forgiveness. My gripe was the foolishness he spewed. He's welcome if he behaves himself.

Forge - Laziness, really.

Blaq - I don't buy that for one second. Air Force 1 can't can't on water so the commander-in-chief couldn't get off his ass and actually lead his people and his staff in crisis? Give me a break.

Water didn't overtake the entire city. He could've landed somewhere. Marine 1 could've been used too.

Money had everything to do with the perceived good job done by FEMA (who in the midst of all this faked a damn press conference. I'll cover that today) and local agencies.

Of course this is about money. People along the Gulf Coast were poor and had nowhere to go, so they were put in trailers and bussed to Houston.

People in Malibu and San Diego are plenty rich. One woman interviewed on Larry King Live said she'd def. rebuild, but would likely live with friends in Spain or Switzerland.

This is all about money and class.

I'll go to the movies w/you!

Mr_Jones wait...? So you're suggesting that "Marine 1" should have been navigated thru the streets of New Orleans? You're seriously suggesting this? Are you also suggesting that the President, Commander in Chief has to physically be present to lead his staff during a crisis? EVERY CRISIS? Name previous Presidents that were held to the same standards and please do not say that there hasn't been a crisis of equal or greater magnitude.

Water didn't overtake the city...? Really? French quarter was about the only part of the city not flooded. Was it not? But the wealthy lived there so I guess that's why it was spared...

That fake press conference shyt that FEMA pulled was tacky, tasteless, and stupid. No defense for that.

I think I'm going to have to do a post on 'race' and 'class envy' in order to address this statement.

I wanted to suggest that you and I read a book together and discuss the topics presented therein. It's called 'White Guilt' by a gentleman named Shelby Steel. Although I hate reading books, I think it'd be interesting for us to read it and discuss the merits therein. Let me know what you think.

Donald who?

You have to pee because your mind is on that beach in Bora Bora drinking beer! And don't mention beer and blow jobs together. Nasty thoughts!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you on the movie attendace. I still haven't see "Why Did I Get Married" because I refuse to go alone.

Federal Government and Emergency response. Yeah, it wasn't Bushes fault what happened in New Orleans, but the bastard should have at least shown some compasion and empathy

You want a relationship, but not the work that goes into it. Very common issue among Black men that WE ALL need to overcome.

Didn't all of the gyms in North America close?

Basketball? What's that? Oh, not Football.

And rain is like sex, you don't complain until you aren't getting any. We need it to rain down here something terrible.

Mr. Jones said...

Blaq - Marine 1 could have landed somewhere. It's a helicopter. Find a dry spot and land. The secret service touched down eventually so the President could survey the damage. They could've done the same initially. There's no defending how that situation was handled.

No, the President of the United States should not be present for every crisis. Hurricane Katrina was the worse natural disaster in the history of our country. He should've gotten his ass of a plan the first time.

Bush has proven consistently to be a pussy leader. In times of crisis he flies over or reads books and ponder the red and blue fish with kindergarten kids. His recreational use of Camp David is well-documented. He uses it more than any President since Roosevelt founded the place. When he isn't there, he's in Crawford at his ranch...crying or writing books about how much he cries.

These aren't suggestions. The President isn't a figure head. He should be actively leading and not by air.

The last comment re: the wealthy was unnecessarily snide. Keep it cute.

TDRT - You're so silly. And you wouldn't know anything about basketball. Did they play that at Bama? I thought they live, sleep and eat football in those parts.
