Does anyone else remember this?

This clip takes me back to the good 'ole days when TV was fun -- and the economy was robust. Forget an updated 90210, I wanna see the 2009-2010 version of 'A Different World'. Who's with me?

And since we're talking about this show...am I the only one who got to college expecting caring, stern house mothers, impromptu dorm battles, cantankerous, yet loveable food service staff and RAs that look twice as old as the other students?

Aaaahhh...Good ol' Hillman College. I remember this episode pretty well. Whitley and Jaleesa used to argue all the time, but they put all the animosity aside in order to perform this routine. I really miss this show...

Sure do. That show got MUCH better after Lisa Bonet left.

I used to know ALL the lines to ALL the episodes from seasons 2-5...seriously. This show is the reason most of my peers who eventually attended HBCUs enrolled in the first place.

Yes sir!!! I used to love "A Different World". It captured the HBCU experience in a real, yet comical light. Mr. Gaines was such a character, as was consummate hippie Freddie. I used to have such a crush on Whitley. So damn fine. lol

I too would love to see a remake of this great show. HBCUs need to be celebrated and shown in a positive light, unlike the niggerish coonery that is "College Hill".

This is my FAVORITE television show of all time!

Man, it inspired me to go to college as a young boy. As sad as it is to say, I don't think I even knew that black people went to college until I saw this and The Cosby Show. I knew everyone had a hustle, but this showed me that an education was just as much of a hustle as any.

It's no fun if you don't say anything.
